Fannin County Sheriff’s Deputies received the original call at 2:40 on Saturday afternoon about a suspect involved in a stabbing located at the intersection of County Road 3830 and Highway 11. When deputies arrived on the scene they found that the case they were working on involved a lot more than they had planned.

Fannin County sheriff Kenneth Moore says he was shocked when he heard what happened this past Saturday just west of Wolfe City.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found James Wayne Evans, 43, a hitchhiker who confessed to stabbing the person who gave him a ride and apparently expected something in return.

“Whenever the individual that picked up the hitchhiker wanted more intimacy and that was about to happen, he determined at that point the intimacy would stop,” said Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore.

Officials say Evans was hitch hiking down Interstate 30 in Arlington when a white female known only as ‘Angie’ picked him up.

Soon thereafter, the 42-year-old driver invited Evans back to her horse barn just outside of Wolfe City.

When they arrived, the two became intimate, and officials say ‘Angie’ asked Evans to perform oral sex on her.

That’s when they say Evans got quite a surprise.

“(When he did) comply with the female subject, he found out it was in fact not a female, but a male,” Sheriff Moore said.

Officials say Evans pulled out a knife and stabbed ‘Angie’– who is a man– multiple times.

‘Angie’ was flown to Parkland Hospital where he was treated and released.

Authorities warn regardless of the situation that picking up hitch hikers is never a good idea.

“You don’t know that individual walking down the highway. Why in the world would you stop and pick up someone you don’t know because in today’s environment that’s just not a safe thing to do,” Moore said.

Evans was taken into custody and taken to the Fannin County Jail where bond has been set at $50,000.

“Oh yeah, they honk and yell. They can do everything you can imagine,” said employee Blair Beckman, 21.

Beckman said the extra attention is expected, but she looks on the bright side.

“You get the attention but you also get a tan, which I need,” Beckman said.

Owner Lee Cathey said the bikini service makes mowing the lawn a lot more interesting — although the fee is slightly higher than their regular lawn cutting service.

“We had a couple of customers sitting in lawn chairs drink beer just enjoying the bikini cut,” he said. “The yards definitely get more attention when there’s a bikini on the lawn.”

The three-month-old company is looking for a way to expand the service through the end of summer.

“In the fall we’ll go pick up leaves in the bikinis if need be,” Cathey said.

However, Cathey said there hasn’t been any interest in a male-version of the bikini lawn cut.

The City of Keizer is taking heat for installing a group of cement posts designed to protect pedestrians from cars, but which some say is a phallic symbol.

A total of 52 of the posts were installed at a busy intersection in Keizer and they are getting a lot of second glances.

A number of residents have complained to the city that the posts resemble male genitalia.

“I can’t disagree with that,” said City Manager Chris Eppley. “They certainly did not turn out the way we anticipated.”

According to Eppley, the posts were ordered from a catalog and looked much different on paper.

“They’re a standard style,” Eppley said. “I think in the right context they look fine. They just happened not to (look fine) here.”

The city is looking into retrofitting the posts with metal collars and chains that run between them, which they hope will change the look. If not, they said the posts will have to go.

“If that fix doesn’t work and I still think they look inappropriate, we’ll have wasted $20,000 and we’ll have to do something different,” Eppley said.

Of course, the city could always keep them up and use them for sex education, at least according to one woman we spoke to. “My son said he wanted to hang a sign on it that says ‘always use protection,’” she said.

The Thomas Alleyne School in Stevenage failed to properly check the leaflet before it was distributed to pupils.

Parent Amanda Clark is considering home tutoring her 13-year-old daughter after seeing the “explicit” information.

The school, which has offered counselling to Ms Clark’s daughter, is now in the process of reviewing its sex education policy.

Ms Clark said: “She was obviously very upset about something. It took her four days to actually tell me about it.

“It was so explicit, far too explicit for her age, with her being only 13. It was totally inappropriate.”

Ms Clark is worried about the long term effect on her daughter.

The school said the whole episode was a mistake.

Headteacher Jonathan Block said: “The leaflet was one of the sexual resources that was given to a member of staff and that member of staff chose to go through the resources and photocopy a section of it and give it to the youngsters.

“It should not have been given as a one off piece, it should have been the whole document.

“Perhaps in hindsight it was not appropriate for that age group.”

A judge has temporarily barred bare buttocks billboards that a bidet company had planned to put up in Broadway’s theater district.

The state supreme court decision was at the request of the Reverend Neil Rhodes, pastor of the interdenominational Times Square Church, which is housed in a building where one of the billboards was supposed to go up.

The billboard ads, featuring naked buttocks with smiley faces, were to promote the Washlet, a bidet-toilet seat that uses warm water and air.

The judge ordered Rhodes and the church to post a 90-thousand dollar bond pending a decision on the issues discussed at a conference between the parties.

She said the bond would go to the defendants for damages and costs — including lost revenues — if the court determines the church was not entitled to an injunction.

Representatives for the billboard ad company and for the church could not immediately be reached for comment.

“With its rounded forms and swelling of the uppermost floors…this building structure is very phallic,” wrote Gwynne Pugh, a Santa Monica architect hired by the downtown redevelopment agency to review building designs.

San Diego-based Sandor Shapery’s proposal for a 160-unit hotel and condominium tower was expected to go before the redevelopment agency for initial feedback this month. Instead Shapery has asked for more time to “revisit” and perhaps “tone down” the design because he does not want to offend anyone.

“If it looks like a phallic symbol, someone has a strange perception,” said Shapery, who was trying to create an “organic form.” “You can find sex anywhere if you want to…There’s just some sick people out there.”

The building’s architect C.W. Kim of La Jolla said the goal was to create a unique building.

“You know, it’s the mediocre buildings that anyone can do,” he said. “Anyone can do a square building.”

The two met in ninth grade at Kingwood High School. According to the lawsuit, they “were friends but eventually that friendship ended due to conflict.”

Madden, 25, began her adult-film career in 2004 and has appeared in about a dozen adult films using the name Syvette Wimberly.

As a result, the lawsuit claims, Madden and the distributor have inflicted “humiliation, embarrassment, loss of enjoyment of life, emotional distress, mental anguish and anxiety.”

Caj Boatright, attorney for Kristen Syvette Wimberly, said her client started being contacted by friends and acquaintances asking about her career in pornography.

“The purpose of the lawsuit is to get her to stop using this name,” Boatright said. “We’re not out looking for millions of dollars.”

Kent Schaffer, Madden’s attorney, said his client chose the name simply because she liked the sound of it.

“There is no bad blood between them,” Schaffer said. “Lara never meant to harm this other girl.”

Madden no longer performs in pornographic films, Schaffer said. Vivid Entertainment had no comment because it hadn’t been served with the lawsuit, a spokesman said.

The lawsuit, filed June 26 in Harris County District Court, seeks unspecified damages, but Schaffer said Madden will agree to stop using the name if that’s all the plaintiff wants.

“They’ll never get a penny from her,” he said. “She doesn’t have any money, for one thing, but even if she did this suit will never hold up in court. I’m not aware of any court that has upheld such a lawsuit. If I use your name to defraud somebody, that’s different.”

Within hours of the release Monday, a U.S. Sen. David Vitter, R-La., acknowledged his telephone number was on the list. Vitter referred only to a “serious sin” in his past but didn’t say if he used the escort service. Vitter issued his statement after a reporter working for Hustler magazine contacted him in what the sex magazine said was its search for “moral hypocrites,” the Post reported Wednesday.

When you order a pizza from Porno Pizza in Winnipeg, Ontario, you get a pornographic photo on the bottom of the cardboard box. The racy image is revealed as you eat the pizza.

Wildeman opened up his pizzeria last month and wanted to create a buzz. He needed a marketing gimmick. He got his inspiration from classic porno flicks where “pizza delivery guys meet lonely ladies and deliver more than just pizza,” he said.

According to the 30-year-old purveyor of pizza and porn, his enterprise is completely legal. Customers must show identification proving they are at least 18 before getting their pie.

Surprisingly, according to Wildeman, more than 75 percent of his clientele are women.

“I’m pretty pleased to see that a demographic that some people might think that we’re offending is actually a lot more open to the concept than society would think,” he said.

Not everyone in Winnipeg is pleased. “We live in a society that is so steeped in porn that people have it delivered to the dinner table,” Roz Prober of child advocacy group Beyond Borders lamented in the Winnipeg Free Press.
